    Dividends Distribution and Earnings Persistence: Evidence from Chinese Listed Companies

    Dividends distribution of Chinese listed companies is irregular, and the level of dividends can’t match that of earnings persistence. This paper empirically investigates the relationship between dividends distribution, including payout policy and level of cash dividends, and earnings persistence. Different from current literature, this paper is the first to investigate the relationship between dividends and earnings persistence from the perspective of different earnings components. New findings of this paper are as follows. First, the company which distributed dividends, has a stronger earnings persistence than those not. Second, core earnings persistence of listed companies that distributed dividends is significantly stronger than non-core earnings persistence. In addition, the company which distributed cash dividends, has a stronger earnings persistence than those just paid stock dividends, and the higher the level of cash dividends is, the stronger earnings persistence shows. These findings have implications for Chinese listed companies to improve earnings persistence by increasing operating income, and for the guidance of properly developing the company cash dividends distribution policy according to its core earnings persistence

    Self-Supervised Texture Image Anomaly Detection By Fusing Normalizing Flow and Dictionary Learning

    A common study area in anomaly identification is industrial images anomaly detection based on texture background. The interference of texture images and the minuteness of texture anomalies are the main reasons why many existing models fail to detect anomalies. We propose a strategy for anomaly detection that combines dictionary learning and normalizing flow based on the aforementioned questions. The two-stage anomaly detection approach already in use is enhanced by our method. In order to improve baseline method, this research add normalizing flow in representation learning and combines deep learning and dictionary learning. Improved algorithms have exceeded 95%\% detection accuracy on all MVTec AD texture type data after experimental validation. It shows strong robustness. The baseline method's detection accuracy for the Carpet data was 67.9%. The article was upgraded, raising the detection accuracy to 99.7%

    Chemistry of new particle formation and growth events during wintertime in suburban area of Beijing : Insights from highly polluted atmosphere

    The high frequency of new particle formation (NPF) events observed under polluted atmospheric conditions is still poorly understood. To improve our understanding of NPF and its effects, the particle number size distribution (3-1000 nm) and submicron particle chemical composition were measured from 4 November 2017 to 17 January 2018 in suburban Beijing. During this intense campaign, 22 NPF events were identified with a frequency of 29%, including 11 cases that occurred under "clean" conditions (C-NPF) and 11 cases that occurred under "polluted" conditions (P-NPF). The observed formation rate (J(3)) and condensation sink were 4.6-148.9 cm(-3).s(-1) and 0.01-0.07 s(-1), and the majority of NPF events occurred when the condensation sink (CS) values below 0.03 s(-1), indicating that condensation vapor likely constitutes the critical limiting factor for NPF events. The correlations between log J(3) and [H2SO4] that close to previous CLOUD experimental results in the majority of NPF events (68%) suggest the high nucleation rates (up to 100 cm(-3).s(-1)) would be attributed by the amines that enhancing sulfuric acid nucleation, while the reminding cases (32%) possibly attributed to the H2SO4-NH3 clustering mechanism, which is supported by the theoretical expectations for H2SO4 nucleation with NH3 simulated by the MALTE_BOX model. The observed growth rate varied from 4.9 to 37.0 mm.h(-1), with the dominant contribution (>60%) from sulfuric acid during the early phases of growth (similar to 4 nm), which was also sufficient to explain the observed Q(GR) for 50 nm)Peer reviewe

    Search for dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector

    A search for weakly interacting massive particle dark matter produced in association with bottom or top quarks is presented. Final states containing third-generation quarks and miss- ing transverse momentum are considered. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of proton–proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at √s = 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess of events above the estimated backgrounds is observed. The results are in- terpreted in the framework of simplified models of spin-0 dark-matter mediators. For colour- neutral spin-0 mediators produced in association with top quarks and decaying into a pair of dark-matter particles, mediator masses below 50 GeV are excluded assuming a dark-matter candidate mass of 1 GeV and unitary couplings. For scalar and pseudoscalar mediators produced in association with bottom quarks, the search sets limits on the production cross- section of 300 times the predicted rate for mediators with masses between 10 and 50 GeV and assuming a dark-matter mass of 1 GeV and unitary coupling. Constraints on colour- charged scalar simplified models are also presented. Assuming a dark-matter particle mass of 35 GeV, mediator particles with mass below 1.1 TeV are excluded for couplings yielding a dark-matter relic density consistent with measurements

    Abstract: A search for the doubly charmed baryon Ωcc+ with the decay mode Ωcc+ → Ξc+K−π+ is performed using proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment from 2016 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb−1. No significant signal is observed within the invariant mass range of 3.6 to 4.0GeV/c2. Upper limits are set on the ratio R of the production cross-section times the total branching fraction of the Ωcc+ → Ξc+K−π+ decay with respect to the Ξcc++→Λc+K−π+π+ decay. Upper limits at 95% credibility level for R in the range 0.005 to 0.11 are obtained for different hypotheses on the Ωcc+ mass and lifetime in the rapidity range from 2.0 to 4.5 and transverse momentum range from 4 to 15 GeV/c

    The CPCP asymmetries of seven BB^- decays to two charm mesons are measured using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9fb19\text{fb}^{-1} of proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment. Decays involving a D0D^{*0} or DsD^{*-}_s meson are analysed by reconstructing only the D0D^0 or DsD^-_s decay products. This paper presents the first measurement of ACP(BDsD0)\mathcal{A}^{CP}(B^- \rightarrow D^{*-}_s D^0) and ACP(BDsD0)\mathcal{A}^{CP}(B^- \rightarrow D^{-}_s D^{*0}), and the most precise measurement of the other five CPCP asymmetries. There is no evidence of CPCP violation in any of the analysed decays. Aside from considerations, such as keeping the virus from spreading and treating patients, the government should also be concerned about the mental health of its citizens during the epidemic. This study aimed to help users who develop depression due to COVID-19 on social media, reduce the cost of counselling, and reduce the need for users to visit the hospital for counselling. This study investigated the opportunities for blockchain technology to provide psychological help to social media users suffering from depression caused by the pandemic. Blockchain-based technology has been used to develop a new model that enables a user autonomy system to allow users to control their own data fully. The model utilizes a delegated proof of stake consensus blockchain to manage depression data to enable low cost and information security while discussing aspects related to trust, privacy, interoperability, and integration with other information communication technologies. The blockchain framework has been proven to provide secure and reliable information management that meets the user requirements for information autonomy. The framework can be combined with various other information technologies to extend its functionality further

    Applications of RNA Indexes for Precision Oncology in Breast Cancer

    Precision oncology aims to offer the most appropriate treatments to cancer patients mainly based on their individual genetic information. Genomics has provided numerous valuable data on driver mutations and risk loci; however, it remains a formidable challenge to transform these data into therapeutic agents. Transcriptomics describes the multifarious expression patterns of both mRNAs and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), which facilitates the deciphering of genomic codes. In this review, we take breast cancer as an example to demonstrate the applications of these rich RNA resources in precision medicine exploration. These include the use of mRNA profiles in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) subtyping to inform corresponding candidate targeted therapies; current advancements and achievements of high-throughput RNA interference (RNAi) screening technologies in breast cancer; and microRNAs as functional signatures for defining cell identities and regulating the biological activities of breast cancer cells. We summarize the benefits of transcriptomic analyses in breast cancer management and propose that unscrambling the core signaling networks of cancer may be an important task of multiple-omic data integration for precision oncology.
